Lee's Bakery
« on: November 16, 2009, 08:35:57 AM »
I stopped by Lee's Bakery on Buford Hwy. yesterday for a chicken Banh Mi for lunch to go. Really good sandwich that for $2.50 is a steal. The chilis were especially hot yesterday but it hurt in a good way.

As long as I've been in Atlanta and as much time as I've spent on Buford Highway, I've never been to Lee's for a banh mi. Someday, I will get there.

If you guys go I will try to meet you. I bought a couple of their banh mi a couple of weeks ago and gave one to one of my coworkers. He has been back several times since, lately raving about their egg banh mi. Might have to try that one.

Me too!  I've only been once and thought it was awesome.  I'd love to go back.

What could you ask more than Lee's gives for lunch.  "Give me a Lee's special please"

Okay they forgot the Jalapeno's for my Pho, so what.   It was wonderful with the great beef flavor and the Thai basil Y Culantro kicking in.  The sandwich, half of a Bahn Mi was delicious and filling and inexpensive with bits of fried (I'm guessing) pork parts along with the splendid salad that a good Bahn Mi is.    So worth the $6.50..

I also returned to Lee's the other day. 1 bbq pork and 1 special bahn mi for me. I love their pork bahn mi--the other street vietnamese food place I tried (Quoc Huong) doesn't do it bbq style I don't think. Not sure which I prefer.. what are your guys opinions?

Can't get into the special bahn mi at either place. The one at Lee's is more tolerable but both leave an undesirable aftertaste. I think it's the liver.
