Mara’s show is part of Steak’s company. Yes, he does do a good job on TV, but I’m more into comparing news and notes, honest ratings of restos, etc. The Food Network profile/informercials don't do it for me as such. He did an Atlanta Eats radio show years ago in which they talked about restaurants. That begat the TV show and bringing back the radio show.
But Mara’s version of the show is nothing like that. And yes, as you said, I agree, “Her show bores me to death.” Steak did it right. Tom Houck also showed you can do a show and talk about Atlanta restaurants when there were much fewer ones to actually discuss.
I guess I assumed since that was her boss Steak’s format, she was heading in that direction. She is a talented, long-time radio vet, but appears she is way out of her league with that radio show. Too bad.
Oh, the most important part--I really, really wanted to like the show. I really did.
Really.
