Orval. My favorite of the Trappists. But when I was in Belgium it was impossible to find. I tried five different restaurants/pubs, but each time the waiter shook his head and said they hadn't had any delivered in a while. A few of them said it's because Orval exports so much, leaving little for consumption in the homeland. As I've said before, these days it's more work to find the really good Belgian beers in Belgium than it is in the US. I bought the Orval at Hop City, which had at least a few on the shelf--no problem. On a related note, American beers are getting so good that I've been tempted to bring a few to Belgium to give out instead of the other way around. It used to be that visitors from Belgium would bring gifts of beer, but nowadays they needn't bother.
Where did you find it Mike?
Last night I had a good BIG beer, the Brash "The Bullocks" from Mercury brewing company in MA. It was good but at 12% I had to take all afternoon and evening to drink it. I really like this beer...http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/brash-the-bollocks-imperial-ipa/179757/
