Speaking of videos, I ended up buying the Lumineers album as well as Of Monsters and Men album from watching a couple of their live sets on YouTube.  And when you are on YouTube and need a lift up from all that troubles you in the world, do a search for PS22.  A couple of those kid's performances later and you can't help but feel a bit better.

Well, not in my CD player, but playing for all to hear on the back porch speakers. To coin a phrase from Mr. Rogers: "Don't you want to be my neighbor?"

Iron Butterfly, Inna A Gadda Da Vida, 1968, 17 minute version.

I wonder how many in this group actually remember the 17 minute version? Or have even heard of Iron Butterfly?
Oh hell yeah!!! I wouldn't complain if I were your neighbor...

It was on KMET Radio when I was growing up in the LA area that I first heard Iron Butterfly, and as they say, the rest was history!

Also saw Dr. Demento live, in the rain at the closed at the time Santa Monica Pier (and helped move his stuff into a closed building so he could finish the show). The Doctor Is In! Great stuff on his program...

"Battle Hymn of Red River Rats", "Yankee Air Pirate", "Sons of Satans Angels", "Ballad of Robin Olds" are some of my favorites. And who can forget "What the Captain Means".

Checking out some Alvin Lee and Ten Years After live from Woodstock.  And some other live sets on the spinner page after his 10 minute song Going Home was over...
