I can't remember the name of my dish - but it was #4 under Mediterranean items.

"#4 Malawach
Thin layers of pastry brushed with olive oil served with tomato sauce,
hard boiled eggs & skhug, a Yemenite hot sauce"

Haven't had that one yet.  Have had the Jachnon, which sounds very similar, and it was a little on the plain side for my tastes.

That is what I had, but Sonny asked if I wanted the regular menu version or his version.  I chose his version, which did not have hard boiled eggs.

yes, they closed down about a week and a half ago.  I heard 2nd hand from Sonny that (at that time), he may or may not still be involved in the new venture.

Reopened as "Ameer's Mediterranean Grill"

No website nor facebook page that I can find.  A quick dash in to look at their menu yesterday afternoon looks like the standard options... not some of the more unusual options Sonny had.

Dang--I have a Restaurant.com certificate for Sonny's.  I liked it, and I'm sorry to hear it closed.  I got this Restaurant.com certificate by trading in one I had for Social after it closed.
