In the space that was up until very recently Chong Qing Hotpot in the outside the perimeter deserted former Value City Buford Hwy strip fronted by Chick Filet, Gu's Bistro opened 3 days ago.Strong Sichuan menu. The chef and his family are from Cheng Du in Sichuan and the food shows it. Meal started with house made turnip, carrot and onion pickle:<< edit >>Based on this lunch today--and the fact that this is SO much better than either Chong Qing Hot Pot, Gu's Bistro is a 'Run, don't walk'--THE stand up place for Sichuan on this side of town.
went solo to gu's got beef jerkey with chili sauce (cold) that fish dish (amazing) boneless smoked tea duck stir fried with ginger, veggies everything complex and clean flavors one of my best chinese meals ever
... The dish pictured has more red oil/sauce and the "dumplings" look more like they could be Wontons. Could this be the case Steve? Next time we will try the Chengdu Wontons for comparison.
