Found Olio Nuovo this weekend at Cumberland. It's marked with a "*" which means they're not getting anymore after the 3 or 4 cases i saw sold. MAybe just a trial this year.
I bought a bottle. It's a nice, very mild oil. Probably would be great for cooking since it's cheaper than the Tuscan, but i much prefer the assertive peppery tuscan.

If you want a buttery, mild, quite tasty oil, you might enjoy the California Olio Nuovo, but i suggest getting it soon.

Maybe we should trade, JMo.  The "peppery" Tuscan was not to my taste, as I mentioned in the EVOO thread.

Yup. Saw it at Cumberland. $15/lb. I'll wait for prices to drop and stock up.

I wish the season was during colder weather, I'm ready to cold smoke some more, but would rather do it without the blue-ice layer underneath it.

I will do some more though keep me informed about the price please as I am not anywhere near a Costco..

Where is your local Fish Monger? Inquiring minds want to know!

I have two.  Both of them women that import/wholesale fish.

I think I have mentioned one of them at least on the salmon/cold smoking threads.

We couldn't resist the CR salmon on Saturday at the Perimeter Costco. I was very disappointed. Admittedly, we did over cook it a bit, but it was not nearly as good as I expected.

The prime meat, however, remains the bomb.

Got some over the weekend, a little higher than the past at $14.99/lb, but totally worth it for first of the season.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it bettylouski. Maybe we just got a less-than-stellar piece.
