We do maybe 95% of our food shopping at BHFM and YDFM.  I reluctantly stop in at a Kroglix only when we need something in an emergency.  The Kroglixes just cannot compete on price, selection and quality, plus the people at the BHFM checkouts actually know the names of the vegetables.  If I have to hear a checker at Kroger ask me one more time "what kind of chile pepper is this?" or "what do you do with bok choi?" I will blow my top.

I was in line at Publix a couple/few months ago and the cashier was struggling with a vegetable.  I was far enough back to see she was endlessly flipping through the laminated pages of vegetable names and associated codes but couldn't see what was holding her up; the cloudy produce bag obscured my view... until she held it up and asked the customer what it was.  It was asparagus.   :o

I overheard 2 cashiers talking and that as of yesterday they can sell alcohol at all registers.

I guess they either made everyone get licensed, or they straightened out the law (or the interpretation thereof).

On an unrelated note:  Does anybody know of any plans to get a farmers market like BH or DeKalb in the GA400 corridor?

No one lives there, cars just streak past going to OTP land and peace and quiet.   ;)

If you mean the PHR one, that may be stretching the definition of GA400 corridor a bit. While I liked Harry's better when the namesake Blazer owned it, still tough to complain about the choices. Whole Paycheck has whomped up the price tag though.

As a grubber and not a whatscooking guy, it's so tough for me to get past that seafood bar with the pre-made real seafood salads and soups. My wallet takes a pounding.

Abbotts Bridge was in my mind.  It's probably a little farther from 400 than Harry's is but it's a North Fulton option that I would consider.

First step is to pay $20 for a pound of ramps.   ;)
