Careful now.  When I commented about the sodium level in the Spicy CFA Biscuit to a co-worker the other day that was all excited about his "free" breakfast I was called a downer and was told that I deflated his anticipation.  Then when he shows up this morning and tells me it was salty...

It's tasty enough, but no way around it, that thing is insanely salty.

Pretty much all fast food is. That and (packaged) ramen from Korea. It's almost like a game for them so see how much sodium they can cram in there.

True, but often the stuff doesn't taste that salty. CFA is so salty it burns my tongue and throat! :)

I've had the chicken, egg, and cheese bagel and it is a qualified gut bomb.

I tried it this week, and it was a little heavy, but felt somehow "healthy" with that sunflower multigrain bagel.  Bagel was not toasted enough, and was not nearly large enough to accommodate the full sized chick-fil-a.  DH had the spicy biscuit, which I've had previously, and that was a real gut bomb, IMHO.

Tale of the tape:

Spicy CFA Biscuit
450 Calories
20g Fat (8g saturated)
2g Fiber
5g Sugars
16g Protein
30mg Cholesterol
1300mg Sodium
50g Carbohydrates

Chicken, Egg, & Cheese Bagel
490 Calories
20g Fat (6g saturated)
3g Fiber
8g Sugars
29g Protein
240mg Cholesterol
1230mg Sodium
49g Carbohydrates

Honestly, it's kind of a push. You gain a bit more fiber and a lot more protein (natch) with the bagel and you'll certainly feel fuller, but it's also a ton more cholesterol. It did surprise me that calorie count was relatively close.

Well, I said it "felt" lighter, not that it actually was.   :)  Obviously, the extra cholesterol is mainly from the egg, and fortunately, it's not something that I personally need to worry about (good genes, and all that).  I probably won't want to pay real money for one of these things anytime in the near future.

Are you sure that's not the result of harsh chemicals simulating capsaicin?

I have chicken sandwiches at many highly touted joints from Yeah Burger, Bocado, Oak Street Cafe... I'm going to say it. The chain Chick-Fil-A does chicken sammiches better than anyone. In fact, it's not even close. Strangely, perhaps the second best is at fellow chain, The Counter.

can't disagree. I had one yesterday for the first time in awhile. I wanted to try their fish sandwich but for some reason the CFA near my office doesn't carry it so plan B was the regular chicken sandwich. love their lemonade too. it's pretty much the only lemonade that I'll drink.

Have you ever listened to someone for a while and wondered, who ties your shoelaces?

You can't do epic shit with basic people.
