Spicy Chick-Fil-A... finally
« on: February 04, 2010, 02:42:19 PM »

I say finally but it sounds like we have to wait a while longer, until 2011.  I remember reading about the spicy chicken sandwich a couple years ago being market tested in Florida or California.  I was hoping it would make it to Atlanta sooner than 2011 (I even asked a store manager about it last year and they gave me a blank stare) but I guess we'll have to wait.  Chick-Fil-A is the only fast food restaurant I'll frequent.

I got an email from Chick-Fil-A recently, and it said that it would be available in June of this year.  (Unless I misread it.)

I have a close relative who works at CFA corporate, and he told us about the spicy sandwich coming a few months ago. It is currently available in the CFA headquarters cafeteria, and he says it's delicious. Supposedly, the spiciness is achieved through a marinade and is in the breading, rather than a sauce or spice shaker or anything. It's like a regular CFA sandwich, but spicy.

Certainly looking forward to its arrival!

I hope they make it tasteably spicy...every "spicy" chicken sammich i've tried is anything but.

Wendy's used to have a decent spicy chicken sammich, and of course, Popeye's (if they get off their butts to make them).

I heard the Dwarf House near southlake mall has it, but that is second hand knowledge so no confirmation.

I really don't get why Chick-Fil-A has a reputation as better tasting fast food.  I hadn't been in years, but for whatever reason I've been to three different ones in the last few months and every sandwich I've had has been pretty bad, two way overcooked and one extremely soggy.  Gross.  I doubt I'll ever be back.

Maybe not "better tasting" but at least recognizable chicken parts?
I think it tastes pretty good. A chicken biscuit is pretty darn good.

Tasty chicken biscuits was what I remembered from years ago, but what I've had recently couldn't even be saved by looking like real chicken parts.

I've almost always had a good (if not exactly filling) chunk of real chicken from Chick-fil-a, with none of the 'chopped crap' that some fast food places call chicken. The ones I frequent make their biscuits in-house each morning, and seem to keep up on frying the chicken fresh (there are some Chick-fil-a's that don't look too good from the outside - I'll find another one if it looks grungy.) My fav is still the Dwarf House down by the airport.

I used to have a bad jones on Popeye's spicy chicken, but a bad experience with the Boulevard store fixed that problem. Zaxby's seem to be getting cheaper with their chicken sourcing - last 2 times haven't been good (the one over in Metter).

I always heard that it was better in Metter.
