I HATE IT!!!!    my camera is dysfunctional....

I have taken some pics with the P&S camera but almost always hate how they turn out...

I have some kind of reader or card failure...   thank goodness I have less than 200 pics on the 4Gb card, and that card readers are not expensive.

You sure it is the camera and not the card.  Cards can and do go bad.  I learned my lesson and will no longer have a card that holds more than 2GB, preferable 1GB.  My son-in-law was able to recover almost everything off a card that couldn't be read by most Windoze applications.  Had to get a reader for about $20.

Well it gets stranger and stranger.. I bought a new card today and a new reader..   my SLR Nikon will not see the new card (at least it doesn't yet...   You are right about only having one or two Gig cards, I rarely fill them up, but often carry the pictures from 7 or 10 days of vacation back home on the card.  I have put 700+ pictures on it in 6 days at Disney.

Now neither of the computer that are always on here see the new reader or the new card.   I am just over my head with the technology..    I'm going back to my old film cameras.   NOT!!!!!  And the worst part is that the camera does not see the new card, the old card, or show any pictures on either.

I have to wait till later this week and go to Wing Camera with my outfit and let Mike look at it.  He cleaned it just a few months ago, so it should be okay..  I hope...?

When we switched from film to digital a few years ago we shot a major project in New York. A 5 day shoot that easily cost $75,000 and just couldn't be repeated. I was scared to death about losing the images and had everything on a hard drive that I brought back with me, the photographer also had one and we shipped another FedEx just in case.

More on my Nikon camera ...   I went to Wing Camera at 3100 Briarcliff Rd NE. today, Mike, the owner took a good half hour to deem my camera fried..  Well, he said it had an electronic problem and it would have to go to Peachtree Camera (right near Tasty China) to have it "looked at".

Here is a "hats off" to Wing Camera, they are the kind of folks you would WANT to clean and service your camera if you didn't know where.    Mike and his wife Jennifer are just the best.  They have sold cameras for me and given me a fair price. They have bought and traded lenses with no fuss and easy transactions.  I love having a guy that will wring out a camera and tell you what is wrong or who else to take it to..    they have my vote..

"Zoo releases details of panda Mei Lan's farewell"

GG>-  Didn't the children and others in Atlanta contribute a bunch of money so this wouldn't happen?

btw.. this is NOT a political rant, I just thought I remembered that the Panda's were NOT going to be going back to China if WE collected enough money to keep them here?

Actually I think it was planned all along that Mei Lan, the baby panda, would leave. The fundraiser was to allow the parents to stay, I think?

I'm sorry.  Peachtree has their own camera techs.  Do you know why they're sending it off?

pcb board... image compression

Shanon from P'tree said they could fix it, but they didn't have the software to adjust the camera back to specs after that install...
So they sent it off...
