I am the czar of mi barrio’s HOA newsletter Best Of. I added some obvious updates from when I compiled it and expanded the boundaries a bit. However, most were with mi barrio in mind and basically a 7.5 mile radius of the AlphaRozJC border.

American: Foundation Social Eatery
Family friendly: Peach & The Pork Chop
Ethnic of any kind: Myzenes
Seafood: Hugo’s
Persian: Noosh Kitchen
Tex-Mex: The El Felix (though grossly overpriced)
Barbecue: Grand Champion
Brunswick stew: ‘Cue
Italian: Osteria Mattone
Pizza: Campania, Pizzeria Napoletana
Peruvian: Mambo’s Café
NY Style Pizza:  Joe’s New York Pizzeria
Southern: Table & Main
Microbrewery for food: Hop Alley
Microbrewery for beer: 5 Seasons
Fried chicken: Greenwood’s on Green Street
Homemade roast beef: Plum Café
Brazilian sandwiches: Coisas do Brasil
Broasted chicken: Karachi Broast & Grill
Chocolate croissants: Sweet Tentations French Bakery
French: Douceur de France
Euro bakery: Collet French Pastry & Cafe
Lobster roll: Bite
Club sandwich: South Main Kitchen
Fried green tomatoes: Peach & The Pork Chop
Poutine: Kozmo’s Gastropub
Cajun: Adele's Authentic Cajun Experience
Pasta dishes: Rosa Mia’s
Frozen yogurt: Cloud 9
Burger: Oak Street Café
Non-traditional burgers: Stax
French fries: Oak Street Café
Stromboli: Alpine Bakery and Pizzeria (though if you want to drive just over Cumming border, Plantation Italia even better)
NY style bakery: Alpine Bakery and Pizzeria
Bakery for bread: Artisan Foods Bakery & Cafe
Cupcakes: Darcy’s
Real Mexican tamales: Elaina’s
Real Mexican tacos: El Trompo
Real Mexican dishes: Leito’s Grill
Tortas: Mr. Taco
Mexicali tacos: Bite
Americanized Mexican: Buzy Burritos (which also has authentic)
Gyro: Athens Greek Restaurant
Turkish: Café Efendi
Chicken wings: Crabapple Tavern
Sushi: Sushi Uchi
Cuban: Mojito’s Cafe
Chinese: Sichuan House
Americanized Chinese: Wok & Chopstick
Malaysian: Rasa Sayang
Americanized Asian: Satay House
Thai: Emerald Thai
Sandwiches: Wilflour Café
Soup: Caribbean clam chowder at Fickle Pickle
Donuts: Dutch Monkey Donuts
Bagels: BB's Bagels
Indian: Madras Chettinaad
Chicken tikka masala: Sitar
Irish: Olde Blind Dog
Steak house: Carbernet
Crab cakes: Stoney River
Crab cake sandwich: Wildflour
Continental: Trattoria 1*41
Pies: The Pie Hole
Cookies: Fickle Pickle
Lebanese: Jerusalem Bakery
Microbrewery: 5 Seasons North
Baklava: Jerusalem Bakery
Chicken Sandwich: The Counter
Sausage rolls: Sara’s Donuts

Also Mr. Maicon and I agree more than we disagree. I have zero problems with his inclusions, I just think the list implies limited choices with FSE and P&PC dominating (and I flat out LOVE both places). Too many exclusions but hammer, nail, head with the inclusions...anyway http://www.atlantacuisine.com/best-of-the-burbs-2014/

LOVE that you have Indian listed, and then, in its own separate category, Chicken Tikka Masala.

Choc, I had to do that for the Anglos. I know most Americans think of the British-Indian dish when they think of Indian food. You have to appeal to the audience. That's why GG pays me the big, big bucks.

Quite imperfect, but Yelp is a good starting point.  Crowdsourcing has advantages. Whether you are a top critic like John Kessler, Jennifer Zyman, or Meridith Ford or the bottom of the barrel ones like Jenny Turknett or the Boz, there are only so many restaurants one can visit, much less multiple times.

Also the “professional” writers are going to focus near the bright lights. Yelp is great isolating '”hidden gems.” It’s so easy for armchair foodies to focus on which restaurants they disagree with most, then say, “I can’t take the rest of the list seriously.”

It is great to see the deep into uOTPia, but life-changing Myzenes getting great pub. Or the no-frills El Trompo. The uOTPian answer to Iris, Foundation Social Eatery perhaps should be higher than No. 9.

Baked is good, but Top 50 is a stretch. I don’t get Hummus House at all. Mebbe it is notch above average but this is it. Truthfully, I found the list pretty accurate.

Yes, I’d put Fox Brothers and Antico much higher, but I said for years and years pizza and barbecue are the two cuisines where you can never get people to agree on. Most notable omission from the uOTPian point of view is Noosh.
