Have you ever listened to someone for a while and wondered, who ties your shoelaces?

You can't do epic shit with basic people.

Beer is why I get up every afternoon.

All I know is that it makes me feel "weird."   I don't drink pop but aspartame sneaks into other things.

I think one of the most alarming things is that artificial sweeteners can cause havoc for people with pre-diabetes and diabetes.  It tricks the liver into thinking it is processing sugar and causes insulin imbalances.

They don't use aspartame in beer do they?  If not, I'm safe.

I'm fairly certain they do not, but if I drink enough it makes me feel weird too.  I'm hoping it's just a coincidence.

This link was posted on Alton Brown's Facebook page. It's a report on a Columbia study showing daily diet soda drinking increases the risk of vascular events such as heart attack, stroke and vascular death compared to drinking regular soda or lighter use of diet soda.

I'm far more likely to believe this result than a fear-mongering Web site pushing detox. They take advantage of people's ignorance and distrust of authorities to make a buck. You can't prove anything is 100% safe, so any risk can be played up, or even made up. Here's what I learned from all of this; diet soda is fine in moderation, but don't overdo it.
