100 Dishes to eat in Atlanta before you die

A fairly comprehensive list, it seems like a preponderance of newish places that aren't really established classics quite yet.  I've printed my checklist and I'm only 25% of the way there.

Dang! I've got some work to do to live up to the Loaf's list.  I'm only about 20% of the way.

I've been to lots of these places, but haven't had the particular items on the list in most cases. Guess I have to make some return trips.

I have to take issue with some of these choices. Why FOUR fried chicken dishes, including Popeye's? Cliff Bostock is in the tank for them, I know, but seriously, Besha couldn't knock some sense into him? Some items are conspicuous by their absence: no pho or banh mi, no Indian or African of any kind.

Some dishes to tick off the list:
So Kong Dong's pork and tofu soup (served bubbling hot, love the spiciness)
Yakitori Jinbei's tonkatsu ramen (FG swears by it, fabulously rich broth)
Tasty China's dry fried eggplant (always ordered automatically when we go there)

Some of the picks are close but not on. The duck meatballs at Abbotoir are the bomb, the lemonade cake at Wrights is better than the coconut, and the fried mac and cheese at Carvers (with the fried chicken, meatloaf, or chicken pot pie) is the real deal. Carvers sounds great right about now...

The Redux is now up: http://clatl.com/atlanta/100-dishes/Content?oid=8074670

I like three things about this kind of list.

1) It gives me some ideas for things I haven't tried yet.

2) I get to complain about all the things they left off or got wrong (where the hell is the Holeman + Finch chicken pate?)

3) Atlanta is now such a good food city that we could probably add another 100 things to this list. In fact, that might not be a bad project.
