tail end of the season (judging by the label descriptor of "Winter Warmer"), but picked up a 6 of Tommyknocker Cocoa Porter that is a little lighter than my usual stout obsession, but very refreshing and tasty.
Wow! Stone Sublimely Self Righteous Ale....Now that is a good beer... I bet it will be even better when it warms up a little?Good malt, pretty and tall tan head that stayed up for a while. Almost looks black in the glass but tastes somewhat like an arrogant bastard.. More malt, a bit of different hops I'm guessing.. but a damn good pour..I'll save the other half of the bottle for after dinner, this is a good, and filling beer.. Another winner from Stone IMHO...added later: And this big bottle is a good price.. at Niko's less than $6.50... Nice....http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/stone-sublimely-self-righteous-ale/96858/
I had the Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout at (the dearly departed) 5th Earl, as I recall it was really good. (However, in the interest of full disclosure there are few coffee or chocolate stouts that I HAVEN'T liked.)
Don't know if it is still there, but last week Leon's had SSR on tap. I agree it's really good.I have yet to meet a Stone I haven't liked.
