Help with POS System
« on: February 20, 2011, 05:19:28 PM »
Been looking for a POS System for my deli and there are just loads and loads of companies looking for me to buy their systems. How much should I be paying for 1 station and which is the best software?

I would suggest getting a gently used one on ebay.  It will be 1/4 the price of new.  You can sometimes get a good lease to own deal through your cc processing company.

Do you need a touchscreen or can you live with a scanner gun?

You should be able to get a full package (computer brain/screen/scanner gun/software/credit card swiper and printer) for around $750 on ebay.

Some software is more geared towards selling shelf items but you can still input menu items and print them out on a sheet to be scanned with the gun or you can point and click.

PM me if you have any questions.

Zeezor in Atlanta is great. Strongly recommend. They sell and service the systems, with software provided by OnePOS, a company started by the guy who originally programmed Aloha.

The folks at Zeezor have been wonderful to us.
