Decatur's Marbar closes up shop for good:
http://www.decaturish.com/2014/10/marbar-closes-good/

I never went but that's largely because I never heard anything good about it.

New Polish Restaurant in Duluth appears to have closed.  Was the revamp of previous Gimza.

Slate Table and Tap (or the newest incarnation of it) has closed.  The sandwich board outside says for remodel / re-concept, and FB just says that they closed.  https://www.facebook.com/SlateRoswell/posts/968083849874347

Once they flipped from the bar food concept to the higher end 26-32 entree range we stopped going.  Hopefully they can figure this location out and get some diners coming down to their side of Canton Street.

Liked it a lot when it first opened. When the horrible fire happened at Indigo, they brought over experienced and competent servers temporarily.

It seems once Todd Hogan left, the service was consistently derelict. I’d sit outside and see them laughing it up in the kitchen rather than doing their job. Also on any given day, a good portion of the menu wasn’t even available. “We don’t have that anymore.”

I flat out stopped going. The Roswell Davinci’s, East Roswell Taco Mac, and Slate are the top three places that I associate with clockwork awful service. Slate lasted longer than I thought. It’s a shame because I love the bar area and the food remained better-than-average even in the post-Hogan era, but menu roulette and a staff more concerned with socializing among themselves than working I think did them in.

We went once or twice, but it never grabbed as a restaurant we needed to put in our rotation. Always meant to give a second try, but there's already too many things I want to try and haven't. Meh.

Big Tex bites the dust:
http://www.whatnowatlanta.com/2014/11/03/fox-bros-restaurant-group-to-shutter-big-tex-decatur-nov-3/

if they'd just turn it unto Fox Bros 2 they'd be wildly successful, imo.

That is sortof sad news, but I drive past it to go to Fox Bros. every time..

I actually heard this from one of my 7th graders today, but Eater confirmed. Tasty China II has closed. The original is still open, and the new Jia in Midtown is supposed to replace it.

Look for an attempted comeback of Rio Bravo in that TCII shopping center. They claim to return to the glory days when they actually put out pretty good Tex-Mex before selling it.

is Tasty China II the one that started out as Peter Chang's?
I know a grown man that would weep for days if the original ever closed.

another Decatur restaurant bites the dust. Harbour House Pub has closed. owner has agreed to honor gift cards at Napoleon's.

I never went because the menu just wasn't interesting to me despite being a seafood fan.

Hemmingway's on the Marietta Square Marietta is closed for renovations according to the sign on the door. It says it will reopen mid-Jan. as a non-smoking, family friendly pub. There is nothing on social media or their website about the closure. It didn't look like anything was happening when I looked through the windows.

According to an email and the Facebook page, The Willys Mexicana Grill in Vinings is closed for renovations until Jan. 13. Willys is refreshing some of their older locations with their new look/salsa bar, so I'm pretty sure this will reopen around their predicted time. I eat there at least once/week and am glad as the location was showing its age.

Adele's Authentic Cajun is temporarily closed while they move to Artisan Cafe's old spot at the intersection of Canton street and Woodstock road. Kind of a weird choice, because that's a much smaller space. But maybe there's something I don't know yet.

That is a weird move. The F&H Group moved from that same shopping center to Canton, but they moved to the heart of Canton. I know Chef has set up shop at AA5 and probably dreamt of moving there. But he's simply moving to the periphery.
