I just noticed this place on Ponce near City Hall East, though I don't think it is all that new.  Anyone been?  Is it worth checking out?

The one time I've been everything seemed decent. Don't remember what I had though.  :-[

It's been a while since I've been, but the Local has pretty good bar food. I don't remember anything fancy on the menu; it's strictly what you'd find at a neighborhood pub. Burger, chicken fingers, salads, etc. Their fries are served Belgian style in paper in a glass and are my favorite thing on the menu.

I've never been to The Local but I think the owner is also involved with EATS.  I do like the Book House Pub which is tucked in behind it.

The Local is a place of legend.....Not for everyone but if you ever followed Hollis Gillespie's column in Creative Loafing you will recognize plenty of references.

Fun, friendly spot.
