If $X.95 really bugs you then you would go batty at my regular Monday night card location.  The price for "pints" of the following:
Blue Moon - $4.21
Newcastle Brown - $5.14
Guinness - $5.61
Sweetwater 420 - $4.21
Sweetwater Motoboat - $3.27

I think that qualifies as "quirky" as opposed to "I can sell more by making my stupid customers think that it's a dollar less than it actually is".

Aren't consumers more likely to buy an item if the last number ends in an odd number?

Or maybe with whatever tax rate they're under, it comes out to be an even number.

I price certain things "oddly" so that they come out evenly -- mainly pop but also ice cream and candy.
