5Seasons was a no-brainer for us--we're there a lot.

It's Murphy's today - now the food would be reasonably overpriced... ;D

Varasano's today! Definitely worth getting for us. I think he must be getting pretty slow, though, because he's been running a lot of specials lately. . . That is a pretty expensive space, you know.

I still use Scoutmob and Groupon to keep an eye on places that might be going through problems. Would be interesting to do some statistical work...

You think a lot of places use this as their Oliver*?  I seem to see a lot of new places use it for exposure.  Never really tracked how many were disappearing after a Scoutmob release.

* Oliver: A person or gimmick brought in during the last gasps of a failing series or business, as in the superfluous child brought in to help boost ratings toward the end of the Brady Bunch series.
Unfortunately, a conclusion is usually the place where you got tired of thinking.

As I posted in another thread.  I did a quick look on Schumaker's site when V started buying groupons and would see those same establishments on the blocks.  I prefer to not be burned buying a groupon, restaurant.com, AC gift cert, etc for a place that quickly goes out of business.  If I have a coupon/discount they provided to me that did not cost me any money and I don't act quickly enough then that is a whole different thing.
