Might it be a second location of the one in Buckhead? http://thebigketch.com
Exactly 100 days before Avalon opens: Ford Fry, Shaun Doty, Giovanni DiPalma and heavyweights from Texas, Charleston and elsewhere open shop.

Or that they are committed to Avalon and opening at the grand opening? Avalon's update for 7/21 has it looking pretty rough still, and doesn't mention any restaurant openings.....

As a dude who does multi-media myself, perhaps I'm equally fascinated by the production as I am the progress, but they seem to be getting there http://youtu.be/tLgDI6EJKKw?list=UU-SX3wTOZosmhlw5cz7WvWQNobody knows better than I about projected opening dates and actual ones, but with so much money invested, I think this is like the Olympics and World Cup--they have an etched in stone opening.

We have a date night coming up on Thurs, and I was going to venture up there and see what was open. I'll give it a few more months....
Quote from: Northside Food on July 21, 2014, 03:46:03 PMMight it be a second location of the one in Buckhead? http://thebigketch.comIt looks like the same place, I just can't verify it on their website or social media sites. Has anyone been to Big Ketch? Would they compete with Hugo's or do they have their own seafood niche / clientele?Side note, I did see some ppl out at Ricky's Fish Camp over the weekend, but I've given up hope that it will ever open, or that it will stay the fish camp concept.....
I too like Hugos... and interesting thought on Big Ketch as the 1st non original concept. Hopefully it will not start a trend!
We'll disagree there. I'm verra impressed with Hugo's. In fact, wifey pooh doing her book club there tonight and I demand she brings me some back. New Urban Roswell brought up a very good point. I think this will be the first place on Canton Street that is not an original. Yes a few people have multiple restaurants, but everyone on Canton, including side streets like Plum, Green Street, etc is a one and only locale. A few years back, Mittie's was on Plum, but that was right before the transformation.
