Rio Nuevo Cantina on North Point is finally opening today. They'll have some radio personalities there tonight, if that's your sort of thing. I'll pass.

For months they've been building out the space where Famous Dave's and Houlihan's used to be. I'll give them a shot... wishful thinking that they will break the mold of food near the mall.

Is it just me or does the website not work?  I can GET to it, but nothing is clickable... not a good start.  :-\

I think they'll have to offer some other non-chicken options (veggie sausage seems to be covered). But I think about Bucc's and have to wonder...

I'm sure this is their "concept" but I'd like some other options.  Ground chicken (and turkey) just do not appeal to me.

If it's spiced well, I like it for a while. You can only do so much with ground poultry meat and fat - I guess if you mix in beef or pork fat it'd be better. But then why do chicken in the first place?

Hopefully their food truck will work well.  Obviously there is a market for it (I think?) and it seems more like food truck food than a brick & mortar place.

That is an odd concept for that location. Good luck to them!

Atlanta is the most pork sausage-deprived place I've ever lived. Seems like every hipster breakfast place around my place (Grant Park) has something against plain ol sausage. Every permutation is available except the one that actually tastes good.

I can't speak so much for the breakfast part as it's the meal I least often eat out.

But Fox, SATH, 'Cue, and Hot Dog Heaven all have excellent homemade sausage. Others use Patak or Sausage World and I know GG*2 touts another supplier. I can even get a real Maxwell Street 'round here.

I like being depraved with those options.
