A light sprinkling doesn't help. Only makes things seem hotter.  >:(

Oh how I wish it would have snowed last night rather than that PITA sleet/freezing rain.

I have an SUV, been driving on "bad" weather for years and even I turned around after trying to head out about 5PM last night. Everyone says "But you have 4WD!". Yes, that allows you to slide on the ice with all 4 wheels facing the same direction.  ::)

I almost fell on my butt this morning taking the dog for a walk. There was a thin sheet of ice right in front on our sidewalk. It didn't seem that cold.

I found most of the streets to be wet rather than icy, but parking lots were really treacherous - not enough traffic I guess.  Now that it is raining they are probably OK.

Has anybody ventured out yet this morning? In east/northeast Cobb, streets in my neighborhood look slushy/icy and have seen just one car, going verrrrry slowly. Wondering if we should try a grocery run.

Drive wit caution - isn't supposed to get above freezing, and pretty rough wind chill. I'm not getting out of the house - heck, hard enuf getting out of bed.

My Dad is in E Cobb and said he's not going anywhere. He's usually the first one excited about "testing" the roads so for him to keep off them...I personally wouldn't try unless there's absolutely nothing in the house to eat. If you slide and damage the car you're going to be in a long line with the insurance and repair folks.

I'm stuck until AT LEAST Monday afternoon but I've been up here for 10+ years now and prepare for it. I have at least a months worth of food and meds at all time ;)

Strangely, I remembered to have a month of meds in house, but forgot the bread.  :D
Am thinking I'll wait until tomorrow when I have to go to work in Roswell. Only problem then is I have to work late and drive back home at night with roads at below freezing. Not sure how brave I really am......

I've been running around south cobb for a couple hours...have to look for anything other than clean dry roads.   At sears replacing a dead battery :(  but absolutely no problems getting around so far.

It is snowing again up here. I'm thinking Tuesday at the earliest now :p One of the very few times I wish my road and the 3 miles before me were owned by the government so I could have them plow and salt them!

Put another log on the fire.....
