Matter of fact!
Attended the sausage class just yesterday on a Daddy/Daughter date! Class was informative, 11 bodies attending, fun to watch (entertainment is where you find it!), great meal and "refreshments" after. Bacon and Sausage Scone from the bakery was awesome (thanks for the glass of milk)!
Thank you Rusty and staff for an enjoyable class and am looking forward to my next visit with the Cured Meats Class!

Join Rusty & Hopeton for our Lamb Chop Class, where you’ll learn to break down a whole local lamb, supplied by Three Post Farm! We'll create not only chops, but also roasts, lamb steaks and other delicious lamb preparations.  Each participant will take home their butchering efforts of various lamb roasts & steaks.

 

 This class runs from 10 - 1 and includes a lunch of braised lamb sausage, summer vegetables and beverages. $100/ Person. Refunds are not available for missed classes.

Whole Hog Class with Gum Creek Farms April 4th
 

April 4, 2015 from 10 to 1

 

Get to know cuts of pork from the inside-out. During this interactive demonstration, Rusty & Hopeton break down a whole pig while explaining various cuts of meat and the nuances of butchery. Participants slice their own pork chops and create two pounds of signature bacon!

At Gum Creek Farms, rancher Tommy Searcy raises his Tamworth and Berkshire pigs on pastures of grass and clovers. His pigs graze on rotational pastures to increase forage nutrition and to  maintain healthy certified organic pastures. Tommy will  share his insights about life on the farm, explain the importance of humanely raised meats and  describe the future of locally raised livestock .

Not only are Gum Creek Farms pigs used at Pine Street Market, they can also be found on local menus like JCT, King + Duke, Muss & Turners, Parish, and Local 3.

This class runs from 10 - 1 and includes a lunch of slow roasted pork shoulder, braised vegetables and beverages. "Whole Hog" attendees will take home their own pork chop and bacon. Due to the curing process, bacon is available for in-store pick up the following Saturday. $100/ Person. Classes are held at Pine Street Market.  Refunds are not available for missed classes.

Pine Street Market will be having a whole hog butchery class next Saturday, come out and learn, and eat and enjoy a few hours figuring out just where those pork chops come from..

Whole Hog Class with Hunter Cattle - November 14th
Get to know cuts of pork from the inside-out. During this interactive demonstration, Rusty & crew break down a whole pig while explaining various cuts of meat and the nuances of butchery. Participants slice their own pork chops and create two pounds of signature bacon! Hunter Cattle is family owned and operated in Brooklet Ga, just outside of Savannah. They are a "pastured and sustainable" farm which raises cattle, hogs, and chickens without giving them antibiotics, hormones or caging them.
